Weekly News: Under 21s advance to County final following thriller in Golden

Under 21 Hurling

Pride of place goes to our Under 21s who have qualified for the County U21 A County hurling final after a heart stopping 3.14 to 3.11 win over an excellent Carrick Swan team on Sunday in a sun soaked Golden.

We led by 5 at half time by 1.08 to 6 points but ‘Swan really showed their quality in the second period and led with minutes remaining on the clock following a crazy period when 3 goals were scored within 90 seconds of play. A Stephen Ferncombe free then went all the way to the net and we held on for a 3 point win in front of a huge crowd.

We now advance to the County final on the weekend of December 7th/8th where we will face the winner of the Borrisoleigh v Holycross semi final which is due to be played this coming weekend.

Camogie Club Fundraiser

Clonoulty Rossmore Camogie club will host a Table Quiz and Raffle On Friday November 29th at 8:30pm in Tony Brennan’s Bar. This will be a great night of celebration following the club’s historic first ever Senior Championship success. Get your team of 4 together for the table quiz. There will also be some excellent prizes included in the raffle and some unique items for auction. Looking forward to a great night.

AGM

The GAA club will host the AGM on Sunday December 1st at 6:30pm in the clubhouse. Please make an effort to attend.

Book Launch

Clonoulty Rossmore GAA is pleased to announce that a book on the club’s rich history will be launched on December 15th 2024 in the clubhouse. ‘The Botheen Men’ has been completed following months and months of work and research with author William Ryan (King) documenting the club’s history from its birth in 1884 up to 1961. We will release more details about the launch in the coming weeks.
