Weekly News: High hopes for 2025

Teams have already begun preparations for 2025 and as the weather improves we will see all teams return to our facilities with great anticipation for the year ahead. Our adjourned AGM will take place on Friday January 17th at 8:30pm in the clubhouse. A number of positions remain open and are likely to be filled on Friday evening. It would b great to get a good crowd down on Friday night to show support for the club going forward.

Bumper crowd at the launch of “The Botheen Men”

A huge crowd was in attendance for the launch of Volume 1 of Clonoulty-Rossmore’s GAA story which took place in the clubhouse at the Dillon Quirke GAA grounds on Sunday last (16 December).

Written by William Ryan (King), “The Botheen Men – Gaelic Games in Clonoulty & Rossmore” chronicles the history of the West Tipperary club from 1884 to 1961.

It recounts the deeds of the original “botheen men” who won the second ever Tipperary Senior Hurling County Final in 1888 before going on to document the club’s time in Mid Tipperary which culminated in a divisional title in 1927 followed by an infamous County Final appearance the following year.

Weekly News: Under 21s go down to outstanding Holycross side / Club to launch history book next Sunday

Commiserations to our brave Under 21 hurlers who lost out heavily to an outstanding Holycross Ballycahill team on Sunday in the County A final in Drombane. This team really has given the club’s supporters some brilliant days over the last two years and they can be very proud of their achievement in winning back to back West A titles culminating in a county final appearance this year. In truth, it was always going to be a difficult assignment for our lads, coming up against a Holycross side that has won the last three County U19 titles.

Weekly News: Back-to-back West U21 A Champions

18th November, 2024

Congratulations to our young hurlers who secure a second West Under 21 A title in succession with a hard fought win over a classy Eire Og/Sean Treacys combination on Sunday in a damp Golden. The sides were level at half time, but a strong second half display got us over the line in wet conditions. We now advance to play South Champions Carrick Swans next weekend in the county semi final.
